If you have any interest in a subject like this, then it's fascinating. If you have no interest, perhaps a visit here will spark it.

We all had such an awesome time during the annual Native American festival; the performances, the variety of booths with items to peruse and purchase, the hands-on learning stations that taught my d.d and I how to weave baskets, make cornhusk dolls and turquoise-beaded leather bracelets, as well as the many trails, and breathtaking views of the mounds was beyond what I expected. We ended the day with a nice cool down at the museum that had fairly in-depth exhibits and a modest gift shop. This will without a doubt be a yearly event our family will hope to never miss!

This location needs to be deleted. It will send you to no where and just stop in the middle of the highway. There is another monument tag that will send you to the visitors center.

Well worth the stop to view the mounds on foot but disappointed that I was not able to drive through the park due to low height restrictions of 8ft 6 inches.
- Tim Lewis (9 years ago):
Well worth a visit to learn about some of the history of the indigenous population.
